You lookout the window and see...nothing. You do, however, catch a whiff of a very acidic smell before the Ark's air filtration kicks in, and you can hear a loud, rythmic thumping, which shakes the ship every so often.

Influence roll: 83 + 77 + 15 (rock) = 175
You sit down at the bench and try once again to polish the rock, and without the shiny to distract you you fare considerably better. The end result is a smooth, shiny stone reminiscent of the end of a sunset.

Deciding that the rock that nearly killed you yesterday is worth investigating, you leap out of the ship and deliver a mighty kick to the boulder.
It shatters.
As you dust yourself off, you note that the inside of the rock was partially hollow - it was an enormous geode. The broken pieces sparkle with every gem you could name, and several you can't. Clearly you are very lucky.

Determined to redeem yourself, you march out of the ship once again, and fall into the pit left by the rock. Strangely, the ground is actually springy enough to bounce you out of the hole and several metres away into a nearby pool of muck. Something tells you that this pool is inhabited by a pair of lampreys. Perhaps it's the pile of eggs and the pair of eel-like horrors latched onto your helmet.

Flashes of orange lightning illuminate the landscape outside. The area around the ship is fairly grassy, but in the distance you can see an enormous field of black sand dotted with shiny patches of glass.
As you may have noticed, influence for gathered items is awarded only once for each type of item (i.e. you're not getting 20 exp for each lamprey egg, you just get 20 for the lot). This is to avoid horrendous amounts of influence gains from lucky rolls like Cript's.
This world was Monstro as seen in Kingdom Hearts, by the way. (therefore, the enormous hunk of enamel Jorn found is, in fact, a tooth.) The new one is nowhere in particular.
