I never really get sick of the default song, but instrumental music, death metal, classical, or video game soundtracks will work for me.

If you've ever played Diablo II, the Tristram theme is a little like the DF game music.

I enjoy the theme Toady did. It's quite awesome. Hypnotic even.  :D

I agree about it being awesome, but how long can you listen to the same five-minute (give or take) song?

Forever!

If you loved Diablo's music, try Torchlight.

Same guy did the music for it.  :)

I listen to a wide variety of bands, including an Estonian band called Metsatöll. Try listening to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--i3pwGGabE I don't understand a carp of it but it sounds so Armok damn awesome.

Lots and lots of classical, and if I ever get bored I switch over to AC/DC or Led Zeppelin.

I listen to my various touhou playlists, specifially my Touhou 11 Subterranean Animism playlists. SA is pretty much my favorite touhou game because of the music. All the songs in it are good though stage 4 and on is just awesome song after awesome song.

But when I'm not listenin to touhou, I generally have classic rock on. Rush, The Cranberries, Guns N Roses, Journey, Kansas to name a bunch.

I did. That town theme is REALLY similar to Tristram.

Might I suggest an improved version?

that version is when toady gives the dwarves free will, rubbing alchohol for booze, and guns

guns

I don't think guns have anything to do with bad music.

I don't listen to anything. I watch movies. I find it influences my design, usually in a favorable manner.
