HP has the most ass-backwards payroll system EVER. I think it was deliberately designed to screw us out of our full pay and be so confusing that it's nigh-impossible to track.

Unless of course, you're former CEO Mark Hurd, in which case it works like this:

1. Bang a marketing consultant (who also happens to be a former softcore porn actress).
2. Funnel money to her by cooking the books. Lie about #1 and #2.
3. Be forced to resign.
4. Collect $30 million severance package.
5. Go to work for Oracle and collect $240 million in stock options.

HP's design FAIL problems go a lot deeper and older than Hurd. What ARGLEBARGLERAAAAAGES me is that the prick froze salaries for HP workers, got a fat bonus the same year, and has been forcing all HP employees to undergo "ethics" traning and making a big deal out of ethics, and then goes and commits sexual harassment, fraud and embezzlement. And not only gets away with it, but essentially gets rewarded for it. His severance package alone is more money than I'll likely earn across my lifetime. The level of hypocrisy and irony is enough to make my head asplode.

When people wonder how on earth someone could not think capitalism is a wonderful thing, I would use this as Exhibit A. AND THEN PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE.
