Clock Tower: The First Fear
Scariest SNES game I ever known.  Please if it is dark and lonely where you are right now DO NOT do research about this game.

Oh that's where that GIF came from.

...not that I'd know anything about that.

I was really tempted to put a picture of Obama or Palin's autobiographies. Instead, I put forward A Modest Purposal.

Basically, in very reasoned terms, it concludes that eating most of the one year olds in Ireland would be a good idea. Scary as hell how much sense it makes.

Oh! Scariest piece of fiction: A Modest Video Game Proposal. Simply because of how batshit it is.

Admittedly, Penny-Arcade proved themselves to be fucking awesome because of it. But still, freaky how some people can actually think they're making a good point by doing something like that.

Oh god, not Clock Tower. I had to quit, it was so scary!

...And, mostly, I couldn't figure out how to get away from the slasher guy >_>.

Yahtzee's Chzo Mythos/Trilby games were pretty scary, to me at least. DeceasedCrab's silly pronunciation of 'Chzo' kinda broke immersion for me though (KHZO, DAMMIT. NOT CHUZZO.)

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

It's a f**king CHILDREN'S BOOK. The stories themselves aren't that bad, the usual sort of campfire ghost story fodder. But the illustrations. OH GOD THE ILLUSTRATIONS. I'm serious, google that shit and take a look at a few of the image results, and then imagine reading that when you're like EIGHT years old.

Don't tell me you're afraid of a Minotaur in a house?

Have you read it? Honestly, the synopsis said what it's about, but it really doesn't do it justice.

Speaking of scary stories:

Is it bad that I innately got the joke without even having to think about it?

I thought Slender Man got just a BIT over done when he became a giant bony alien reptile badslashervillian with billions tentacles and shit, though. That's what made it bearable to go to sleep at night, I guess.
