I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

Uh, no offense, but you are a bit too paranoid.

Also, Barbarossa, is team victory allowed?

Same problems.

sooo war
I'd never trust you to be my ally. :P

I would like to avoid war if at all possible. It takes away my resources.

Why am I too paranoid? What reason do I have to think Inteuniso won't grab my territory given a chance?

Tarran, I get the feeling you want this to be a just world, where the little countries aren't picked on, and everyone is allied, and there's no war. That's an admirable goal, and in many games, and in real life, it is good for everyone. However, that's not going to happen in this game. In this game, the entire point of the game is to have war with others, take advantage of everyone else's weaknesses, and become the ruler of the entire world. If you pick a bad spot, you're not skilled, and you are crushed. If you don't have strong tactics, you're not skilled, and you are crushed. You simply cannot have a world where everyone lives in perfect harmony, because that game would be boring.

The reason I asked for team victory is because I don't want to have to fight Caesar.

I'm helping Georgia because Canalan attacked out of the blue, without any warning, on the first turn and unfairly. I believe war should be official, not a cowardly sneak attack.

Cowardly sneak attacks are basically what this game is based on. The point is to fight as hard as you can, with maximum force, using whatever strategies you can. Can you imagine how silly it would be to play a game of chess or Risk and tell your opponent what your plans are?

So, you're saying I should attack you on the first turn for no reason?

Not for no reason.
The reason is, you want to win.

But yeah, if I pick a tiny country next to a country with max size and max income, then I expect to be attacked. It's just profitable.
I really don't see why attacking on the first turn and the second turn are that different, or why you should announce your plans to attack someone.

Games are a test of skill. This game involves two kinds of skill; technical skill, that is, positioning troops, solidifying fronts, and such, and diplomatic skill, meaning allying with the right people, picking the right fights, etc. Mafia is made to test diplomatic skill. Chess or checkers is made to test technical skill. This game is specifically made to test both kinds of skill. If you don't like that, this game isn't for you.

Know what, fine, screw helping Georgia. Go ahead Canalan. I'm not helping anyone, ever. I'm just going to all of your kick your asses.

Huh. Didn't notice East Timor wasn't on the map. Damn, I wanted to storm the hell out of that place for daring to declare independence. I guess my next target should be Australia, which helped the process along, but they're too powerful...

Storm the hell out of Papua New Guinea for now. Do what the Japanese could not, and take Port Moresby.

Also, build bunkers in Indonesia, recruit some heavy infantry, and construct a frigate. Name it the KRI Garuda. Final balance is $500.

Cheddar, good speech. But now I'm all paranoid that someone will attack me. Oh well, makes the game more exciting.

Whoops! Adding inteuniso's turn.

Team victories are allowed in the sense that your team can wipe everyone out. As for winners, however, there can only be one.

If you have more than one country, and build new units, do you get to pick where they are built? If not, how do you determine that?

Also, how effective are Air units against Ground units?

Barbarossa, I should have $1000 more, since I saved $1000 from last turn.
