Stan'la is first to the wizard's corpse, and finds a small jade stone that is pulsing with energy (5). He knows that it will grant him new skill in an ability if he activates it (choose a skill to give +1 to). He also finds a note that describes the location of another such stone, in a mountain valley that Stan'la has heard of before.
Ochita arrives just a moment later and reaches in another pocket of the wizard, pulling out another jade stone (4). It is filled with skill-giving energy (choose a skill to give +1 to).
Lisaca throws a stone at the wizard (4+1=5) and hits him squarely, knocking his upper body off in the process (2). The wizard is clearly dead. However, she is unable to find any magical items, and in fact feels a rush of energy shoot towards her as she attempts to look for loot. It strikes at her perfectly (5), and her dodge is disastrous (1). She gets shocked with a mighty blast (3), and she begins bleeding out of her ears (until healed, -1 to magic).
Saragoth begins searching the area, and he finds a staircase that leads up to the tower that floats above the lake (5). It shimmers magically, and he is intrigued by their composition.
Out of the woods comes another would-be bird watcher, the wise Roth. He surveys the scene and prepares something witty to do.
