The dreaded fife of Stan'la spits out a fell tune (5+1=6), and the entire party starts thrashing about wildly (1). Lisaca is relatively undisturbed (3), Nimitz sinks up to his neck in the quicksand (1), Saragoth escapes unscathed but notices Nimitz' peril (3), ExKirby is unaffected (5), and the fifer himself drops his fife into the quicksand (2).

Lisaca, ignoring the fifing, attempts again to heal herself (6-1=5) and channels healing majic to heal her wounded hands.

Nimitz cries out for help after his wild thrashing, but even the act of screaming sinks him deeper (6). Half of his head, including his nose, is all that is left above the sand.

Saragoth cautiously walks forward and reaches out towards Nimitz with his staff. It reaches there (3), but the archer has nothing to grab it with.

ExKirby once again attempts to fly, and once again finds he has no idea how to do that (3).

Well, crap.

See if I can find a rope somewhere. We're adventurers, we should probably have rope. Tie it securely to a tree. Tie it around my waist, securely.

Panicking, Nimitz sinks deeper under (1). He is fully submerged in the quicksand, and will suffocate unless extracted.

Lisaca attempts to use her earth magic to create a platform to push Nimitz out of the quicksand (5+1=6). A platform of earth hardens under Nimitz and flings him into the air mightily! However, he comes back down right where he was before and sinks back up to his neck (1).

Stan'la, meanwhile attempts to extricate the fife from the quicksand, and is able to do so without much issue (3). However, as he turns to run into the forest, he nearly runs straight into a wizard in massive blue cloak, scowling at the party and crackling with mystic energy (1).

Saragoth, seeing that Nimitz is once again in the quicksand, searches for rope, and finds a length in his pack (5). However, it is very weak rope, and as he attempts to tie it around the tree, the bark begins to eat into it (1), leaving it dangerously threadbare.

ExKirby sits around and hums to himself, without much issue (4).

The dice are trying to kill me, I swear. :P

"GODS DAMMIT, YOU USELESS PIECES OF SHIT! HELP ME!"
There isn't much for me to do except stay still and hope my party actually manages to save me. Then I see that wizard.
"Hey! Hey, can you help me? Please?!"

Harden the sand, it should in theory harden the sand making a hard mould in which your body is safe and! you will be able to breath!

No, sometimes you roll 6's.

I give up on the rope and attempt to speak to the wizard diplomatically, "Ahoy there good sir, we 'ave fallen into a bit of a problem here and would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide."

Nimitz speaks up and asks the wizard for help (1, seriously?). The wizard glares at him angrily, mutters "Fool" under his breath, and sets his head on fire explosively as the archer is unable to resist (2). If it is any consolation, his last few agonyfilled moments pass quickly.

Lisaca, acting a moment too late, attempts to harden the sand around Nimitz (2+1=3). The sand hardens around his dead body, but his head still crackles and spits as it burns.

Saragoth bravely attempts to talk to the wizard again (1). The wizard turns his fiery gaze at Saragoth, and mutters "Another fool..." as streams of lightning shoot out of his ears at the fire mage. However, Saragoth puts up a shield of protective flame that diverts the lightning around him safely (5).

ExKirby, seemingly infused with the magical energy that is crackling in the air, starts flying (5). He is quite pleased.

Stan'la plays a thrashing song to the dead Nimitz, but thankfully it doesn't turn him into (another) flaming zombie (3+1=4).

OOC: Thus ends the story of Nimitz, the unluckiest archer to ever draw the bowstring. I'll be messaging Ochita to see if he still wants in. If he doesn't get back to me in the next few days, I'll let Nimitz make another character if he'd like.

Also, been thinking about bonuses. From now on, bonuses will always be working to get you to 5 i.e. if you roll a 5 and you have a +1, it won't get you to 6 (which is bad), but if you roll a 6, it will actually give you a -1 to give you the perfect result, a 5. This makes more sense to me.
