Ok My latist version is wierd.  For whatever reasong the "<" and ">" arnt working to make me go up and down Z levels.  Any idea what happened with the graphic mod?

Hey duders! I got me a new display, so right now I'm capable of playing with a 21x21px tileset... if I get around to making it. In any case, I'm curious what resolutions are your machines capable of.

I'd take the poll with a pinch of salt, might be a bit skewed by people with obscene monitors like me who jump at the chance to vote for our massive resolutions

1280 is not a massive, it's a "common" resolution these days. I mean, the most popular, and most games are supposed to be played at 1280x1024 nowadays.

Noooooooo. 1280x1024 is a very oddball resolution. The ratio is very close to square (1.25:1 ratio). Hardly anyone uses this anymore. Today everyone uses 16:9 or 16:10 ratio displays (widescreen).

Anything less than 1680x1050 makes my eyes bleed. Honestly. I can't even think back to my old 15"/17" screens without getting a headache.
Current DF Settings:

On a 24" 1920x1200 screen, worth every penny.
With this 16x16 font and the slightly altered grid size I can fill most of the screen with a DF window and reduce scrolling to a minimum, even more so on smaller embarks. Changing jobs in Dwarf Therapist is a task for alt-tab one way or the other, so I might as well see as much as possible.

If I had the cash, I'd be sitting in front of a box with dual Matrox cards (the new ones with 8 Display Ports) and 16x 30" screens, preferably merged with the smallest borders possible.. Hey, every man needs a dream, right?

1680x1050 for me, although I like to run at the largest amounts of tiles possible while keeping the font squared.

And as chong li pointed out while raging against Deon, 1280x1024 is a freak among resolutions that should never have existed. Most modern widescreens are 16x10 (16x9 is mostly reserved for TVs) while non-widescreens are 4:3, as opposed to 5:4 (it should have been 1280x960). And yes, I mad...

I have a 1680x1050 widescreen but I prefer to have games running in a smaller window so I can have videos going in another window beside. Usually I play at 1024 without tiles just because so many nice tilesets don't support it
