I'm thinking he's referring to a 1-tile drawbridge. Things are happening, but the tile isn't changing.
Could you check if it's 1 tile?

cluttered. the workshop you're looking at is cluttered.
the various levels of clutter are represented by different colors and symbols.

the more clutter, the slower the workshop ... works.

Well, right now the CLT in my butcher's shop is purple and has gem symbols next to it (Mayday graphics pack).

Then again, they're butchering a forgotten beast...so, yeah.

yeah that's the max level of clutter.
it will take FB's and titans. just remember to deconstruct it and make a stockpile there to keep it safe  ;) from rotting

I still have plenty of free room in my food stockpile, which is right next to the butcher's shop. There's like fourty dwarves on standby. I think it'll be fine.

They just had it cleared away the instant it finished butchering. No rotting.

Butchering is horrible. Even something as small (relatively)as an elephant is enough to overload the workshop with the corpse alone.

Are you saying that a workshop filled with tons of raw elephant shouldn't be cluttered?

Something really odd just happened. I got seven ambush notifications rapidly after each other, so I shut my only entrance bridge quickly (I haven't started on an invader entrance, yet) I first made sure that the gate shut, and when it did, I took a look around. There were three groups of goblins (not seven) spread out in different places along my borders. But in the middle of each group was a human warrior. I unpaused and the goblins quickly killed the human warrior (two of the warriors managed to kill a goblin in each of their groups) and then all of the goblins left.

So, my questions.
1. What the hell?
2. Did I get 7 notifications because the human warriors counted as ambushes themselves? (plus one mystery ambush)
3. Will my human liaison be pissed if he sees human bodies in my refuse pile? (Will update if they get buried in my coffins as allies)

Talk about Dwarven forensic !!SCIENCE!!.

EDIT: Actually, turns out one of the humans killed a goblin and then got off of my map.

It's mostly a bug.

Goblins kidnap children of elves, humans, and dwarves, and raise those children in their society.  These individuals will then show up at your fortress leading raids and sieges.

One of the recent updates introduced a bug where the non-goblins aren't recognized as being part of the goblin civilization, and are attacked by the goblins the moment they appear on the map.

The human traders won't mind, since those humans who were killed weren't part of the human civilization anymore either.
