Definitely all of the underground stuff.

This.
Toady spent quite a lot of time working on underground. Some stuff was kept secret.
Can't wait to discover what kinds of Fun are hidden there.

Underground caverns, I like that. :)

healthcare also sounds really good, now there's a reason for caring for your dwarves.

too bad the bottomlessness in bottomless pits and chasms are gone, kind of disappointing.

magma everywhere sounds great too.

now HFS will actually be fun again!

weapons are now much better, now a sword won't just a middle point between a hammer and a spear.

the new level system seems nice too, no longer will we have to be confused who is higher than who!

statues of dwarves will make statues not just 'statue's anymore.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Underground features and material properties = my fave new features!!!

The only thing I can recall not liking is that, according to the wiki page, plate armour will not do well as well against blunt force trauma as other armours, including leather.  Dood.  IRL, blunt force is mitigated by plate armour better than any other type of armour provided it prevents penetration.  Period.  I wish I could cite some documentation, however, the support for this statement comes from first hand accounts, as I have worn plate armour before quite frequently and been hit with blunt weapons repeatedly.  :P

But I can live with that... I guess it's a balancing issue that will likely go away if equipment damage is ever implemented.     Whatever.  Toady and DF are awesome.  'Nuff said.

Caverns will be sooooooooooooooooooooooooo... awesome, as it takes so much effort to make even a patchwork cavern.

Doctors, for malpractice mostly.
Then I can cause cave-ins, hurting dwarfs I want for Fun and punishment.
And watch them be carried over to the doctors to get stitches / amputations.
My hospital zones will be white, so I can see all of the blood.

DF doesn't have a learning curve. It has a sheer cliff face. And you have to climb it with nothing but a keyboard.

Hey, the lack of bottomless stuff may be for the best. After all, corpses don't splatter without something to hit... >.>
