NONOONOO!

Why don't we tweak our robot, looking for flaws in the mechanisms, wiring, etc., making sure that it's at the highest possible quality right now?

evolving a brain did. dident it?

and anyway my point stands
No. The reason sentient thought took so long to develop is because Evolution usually takes place in the real world. However, the process of Evolution is not inherently tied to the real world, and can be separated from it. If one took a species of mold with the specific intention of making it 'Evolve' into something sentient, one could easily set up its surroundings in a manner that would cause it to develop a sentient brain within, oh, a million years?
Anyway the point is moot because Evolution (natural selection) is a silly process, and certainly not the most SCIENTIFIC way of changing organisms.

I'm going to give this much to you:

When you finish your dose of Clockstop, that'll push you to a new Chem level, which will give you better ability to project consequences.
You are the one who was berating people for wanting to try chemistry whilst under influence! Just do the programming already, and then make another batch of Clockstop.

What about a weaker kind of Clockstop, ditching the second reactive and stable?

i dont think we would learn anything from that

We've tried some physical stuff. It appears to only be reflexes, and the keyboard thing was our fingers moving too slowly.

When I said "Finish the Clockstop" I mean when its effects wear off.

I'll update after I get foods.

The physics simulator is easy - it's child's play to give your last program a rudimentary "understanding" of  the physical consequences of its actions. It still lacks ability to judge those consequences as good or bad, but your rudimentary IFF and a program for weapon recognition will allow it to attempt to disarm opponents or use the environment against them in addition to its normal attacks.

After about eighteen minutes of the Clockstop having been active, it wears off.

LEVEL UP IN CHEMISTRY

You consider the implications - the larger dose probably lost a bit of its effectiveness. Assuming each dose was at ninety percent effectiveness, that'd make a single dose around ten minutes. It seems to function by accelerating your ability to interpret data.

Is the Clockstop still in system if it wore off? I'm not sure of the processes involved.

Proposition:
Work out a combination of small motors (both installed and the free one), copper wire, metal bars and pipes that would allow giving the Anklebiter basic articulated limbs. Use physics program to augment Anklebiter's AI. Draw plans for the Anklebiter's conversion into a walking version, the Facebiter.

The substances will still be in your system. I forgot to split them up though. Fixed.

Adding AI levels to your bots too.

e: You DID move the Anklebiter up to level 2 programming, right?

So, have the Anklebiter patrol the basement whilst you go out and trade your (now unnecessary) books for a microscope (that is, sell books, buy microscope). Doesn't have to be a good one, but you can't really do biology without one, and it is our secondary discipline.

You're actually better at programming than Biology by a bit. it's a natural consequence of your Primary choice.
