Been barred from computer, now back.

"Don't care either way, the captain offers smaller reward, but friends in the guard good to have. Nobles much more crafty, and they always smell strange. Can't trust them."

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

You all make your way to the Police. The Captain is busy. They have you speak to Deputy Norbag.

Not only is it not actually advertising anything, it's just copy/pasting word salads about gold, runescape, oil, yuan, and handbags.  It's like a transporter accident combined all the spambots into one shambling mass of online sales.

Man, ten gold pieces? The going rate is two, damn greedy guards.

"Why of course, we all need to support the guards, with out you their would be chaos!"

I slip ten GP into the bribe jar.

"Now about that thief...?"

The slanted but without quotations are my thoughts by the way.

Alriighty, lads, here's what we know. 'Es a great big bugbear, about eight feet tall. We dun't know where hes holed up, but you ought to check down near the mushroom farms. We get allotta crime around there. Iffin you manage to catch him, you'll be getting a good and proper bounty.

((PS. Psyco Jelly is in as soon as he gets his background done.))

"Thank you sir."

Walks outside.

"Well I think we should swing by our camp and pick up Ignacius than go see the mushroom farms."

(we should probably wait for Ignacius before we get ourselves in trouble.

Edit: what time is it?)

(Nobody knows. You're on the Elemental Plane of Earth. There isn't day or night, as there isn't a sun or anything in orbit around anything else. The fort has a clock with 60 numbers on it. None of you speak goblin, but the big hand seems to have moved one number over.)

(Day and night is a more subjective matter.  Presumably, when everybody is active is "day" while when everybody is sleeping is "night."  So, is everyone active or asleep?)

(Although true to some extent, who knows how a society that never had a day night cycle would work? Perhaps they take naps whenever they are tired and there is always around 2/3 awake at any given moment. But on the other hand if these hobgoblins originated on the prime (assuming it has a day night cycle) than they may have a day night cycle as a habit, depending on how long their society has lived here and how much they interact with the prime/other planes that have a day night cycle.)
