How do you guys deal with the MASSIVE slowdown that occurs when 2 NPRs fight each other?

I've been on auto increments for almost 2 hours now and thousands of 5 second increments have passed and the NPRs are STILL at it.

Most fights don't last nearly that long. You either need to suck it up or use Developer Mode and destroy the offending vessels.

I just destroyed the attacking invader ships

Looks like most of their ships were armed with very few numbers of mesons and mesons only, and were simply evading everything thrown at them while doing terribly low damage.

I am very disappointed in you invaders.

That sounds like swarm not invaders. Invaders won't be a pushover unless you have a colossal tech advantage. And they don't use mesons.

I meant destroyed with SM.

But, you were fighting the Swarm, not the Invaders.

I guess I got swarm and invader mixed up then, but *I* wasn't fighting anyone.

Well, crapola.

Even with Reduced Size Windows checked, the bottom-most buttons on several windows (including event updates and Task Groups) can't fit on the screen. My best default resolution is 1366 X 768. I can try custom resolutions, but I'm afraid of breaking something on the computer. Any suggestions?

ReSize Enable.

It is a rough hack that'll let you resize any window. I'm operating on the same vertical resolution as you, and I've been able to use it to access every bit of every window since I started using it. Just download it and start running it before you open any windows, then drag them to fit. You might need to monkey around a bit, as it tends to compress the content of the window in strange ways, but it does work. Maybe I should just put this in my sig at this point.

Thanks Dice. I knew there was a program, but I didn't remember what it was called and I didn't feel like browsing through nearly 600 pages to find it :P

Also, setting your taskbar to automatically hide itself might get you a few extra pixels.

I seem to end up posting it practically every ten or fifteen pages, so I'm starting to wish Magnnus would show up and add it to the OP.  :P

Ed: What I do with my taskbar is set it to default to the right side of my desktop, as 1024 is more than enough horizontal resolution.

I have mine set to auto-hide, so it doesn't really get in the way.

I just set my bar to the left side of the screen as well...this will take some time to get used to...

ETA: Ok, Resize seems to work. Only problem I've noticed so far is that the event viewer bugs out horribly once it gets updated. Closing and reopening it seems to fix the problem. Good thing I don't really need the buttons on the bottom of that one.
