Did you actually click the "New Class" button before adding parts?
Oh man, now I just feel stupid...
Thanks a bunch, I was afraid I botched something and would have to reinstall!
It's a common mistake, no worries :P
Good luck!

Damn, I should really get back into this. But I still don't know how to play properly...

Xenocide. Remember, planetary bombardment is always the answer. If missiles don't solve your problems, you aren't using enough missiles.

Well then, what part of "How do I fleet" do you need help with? You'll always find at least one person on here who'll spend an hour talking you through stuff.  :)

I'll do it this weekend. I mean, DF was easy for me...
I can design ships well enough. And manage colonies.

Just be warned it takes a LOT of ground units to occupy each planet - something like 25 or 30 garrison battalions each just to occupy, on top of a few divisions of combat + replacement troops to do the capturing, so start cranking em out early.   And it does take a few years of occupation to assimilate the populations, but the added facilities and taxes are DAMN sweet...

Heh. My income is going to be insane once I conquer these people with the 20 billion homeworld population.  Time to start cranking out garrison troops and HA battalions.

WOW 25 garrisons was what it took me to garrison the 500 million Commies I captured, if it scales linearly it could be 40 times that to police 20 billion?  WOW again!  Yea better get crankin...

To be fair, they'll probably lose a substantial portion of that (easily upwards of 10 billion) when I reduce their ground forces with orbital strikes. And by the time I kill enough of them to force a surrender, they'll probably be closer to 5-6 billion. In other good news, my JP into their territory is (functionally) a hidden JP, and I don't think that NPRs resurvey, so as long as I'm careful it should stay hidden.

Is there a "resurvey" option? Do you have to manually gravsurvey all 36 points/a few suspected closest points for this?

Go into the System Information window while in SM mode, select the system in question, and click the "No JP Survey" button to the bottom right. It'll reset the survey points and allow you to go through them all automatically again.
