Good point, but still, jumping into the warp, without a navigator, on a ship thats powered by a pack ment for only a single person where all thats standing between you and immediate and horrible death is a thin bubble that if anything happens to it means it wont function, is generally not a smart thing to do, even in the 40k universe.

Honestly when it comes down to it this is not only warhammer 40k but also an rtd, with luck your cardboard box ship could work perfectly one turn and then blow up the universe the next.
