Running Wild also seems to fit the bill.

That said, I usually tend to listen to speed/power/sword/symphonic metal.   Nightwish, Iron Maiden, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, Within Temptation, Sabaton, and Dream Evil make up most of my playlist, although there's a little bit of Edguy, Gamma Ray, Rhapsody of Fire, and a few other bands on there too.

Oh... power metal. If it wasn't for the... operatic vocals, I think I would enjoy it :D

Okay, hey, people.

Remember what the first post said? It said not to do that.

You know what that is. What I'm talking about. Don't do it.

Talk about music, don't get in your little school yard spats, alright?

Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Power Metal,  Heavy Metal, and Folk Metal are all that matters.

Everything else is unkempt metalheads getting into pissing matches.

Well, there is metal. And you've got metal. Some people say there's metal as well. In other words, why the *bleep* should we care about genres?

They are all separate denominations of one central Truth. The Truth of METAL. While they may disagree on the burning scripture of METAL, they all carry the same central Truth. Now my brothers, let us all shake our heads and rock our hand horns in the glory of METAL.

What?

But true, there are shitloads of genres of Metal. All are Metal though, with the possible exception of Nu Metal.

No.  There are several.  Metalheads have this weird deal where they have to categorize down to every detail so we get nonsense like epic deathly blackened speedy baroque hardcore smash metal.  Then we get into these retarded fights about whether it's blackened death or deathly black, and pretty soon the comments section on youtube has erupted into flames.

I only acknowledge the main genres of metal.  Metalcore and Nu-Metal are not metal, any more than dogfish and hush-puppies are dogs.

Let's keep it on youtube and play nice here though, guys, no need to argue over what is and isn't a genre.

In other news, since we had Viking metal and Pirate metal posted already, I went looking for Ninja metal:

I couldn't get past the second line of that without cringing and turning it off at the horrible, horrible voice. It didn't sound ninja-y at all... You would need some strange oriental version of an electric guitar to pull off ninja metal.

it hurts.

It reminds me of the band at my school trying to do a cover of Wolfmother's Woman. It just dosen't work without a decade or so of heavy drug abuse. I cringe at the prospect that someone will try to create Cowboy Metal someday.
