Oh, slMagnavox, I forgot.

To prevent any more incidents, I think it would be a good idea if we decided on official borders.  I'm still expanding, but I'm wary of accidentally attacking somewhere you're attacking the same turn.

"Cheeetar has awakened!" Ymir cried to the crowd who had gathered. There was silence. In the back, a man spoke. "It took him a while"

Standing over a corpse of the last elephant in vicinity, Dag felt sadness creep over him. After all, there were no more of those hateful beasts anywhere to slay(or so the scouts tell him), what purpose would remain to his life now that he eradicated the source of his complexes? He even begun to feel his voice returning.
Luckily, Frode was there for him:
-You know Dag, those Hinnom always seemed like elephants to me. They're big, fat, bloodthirsty and heatloving.
Thus, the legend of Dag, the mute skald, continues.

There was much debate around the table at the Hinnom War Council. The heated discussion went on for hours, yet they still did not come to a conclusion. Some argued that the Niefel steaks would taste best while others argued that fillet of Atlantian was the more delicious of the two.

Tired of the discussions Leviathan slammed his fists on the table and shouted "Enough! There will be plenty of both to satisfy us all. False words have damned them, they will bow to Shamash or be crushed underfoot. Tonight we feast on betrayers!"

Say, I'm not up to date on the empires in this game. Is anyone using a human civilization, or is it all various giants, monkeys and fishheads?

Cut to Niefel Jarls Gylfe and Gymner gnawing on ex-false-prophet's Leviathan's frozen leg.

Are those victory points good for anything?
Just found out that they actualy act as a dominion spreading thingy. You guys who own at least one, try clicking on a temple for detailed info.

Trusted Olgothu hissed contentedly as she made her way through the hills. A good month.

The rival proposed by the warrior caste to replace her as Ambassador had grossly overstepped himself and angered the vessel of the Sword. And when the furious Matron had ordered him to break the truce he had illicitly crafted, his forces were pushed back by barely-organized Hinnom militia. Stripped of his titles and recalled to the depths in disgrace, Yakt had inadvertently handed control of the Assembly to the alliance of the priestesses and merchants.

The smaller mudcrawlers made eager subjects, to the point where they would cast off their monstrous ruler's yokes without even a pretense of resistance. Given that they serve as foodstuffs as much as serfs, it was hardly surprising. They would pay dearly should their former masters reconquer them, but none seemed to care.

The frigid giants seemed for the moment to be honoring the pact they forged with the vessel. Not surprising, as the foul anthrophages would melt and boil their icy blood. Hinnom eats everything, frightened mudcrawlers whispered by their campfires in the dead of night. When that threat was extinguished, the Rimtursar would likely cast their gaze north to the seas, but that day was still many moons away.

Her reverie was broken by the sight of smoke drifting up from behind the next hill. Time to remind more of the poor little savages that they had a place in the world outside of the cookpot.

Hmm. Clicking on a temple shows only the domain spread I would expect from pretender, prophet, and temples.

Mine shows also "victory points - 5" at the bottom.

edit: I'd swear I've seen Barack Obama in the hall of fame the turn before last.

Quote from: The Manual p93
Victory points Provinces that contain victory points only come into play if the "victory points" special victory condition has been selected in game setup. If so, provinces with any victory point symbols spread dominion for the owning player as though they were a temple, but calculated as though the owning player had a maximum dominion of 5. Thus, victory points spread dominion equally, regardless of the maximum dominion strength of the player owning them. The number of victory points in the province does not matter - provinces with two or three victory points have no additional effect.

Since VP are turned off (else they'd be on the score graphs), we can assume from the above that they're not having any effect, but as still showing up on the Temples screen because the programmers neglected to make that screen victory condition dependent. Probably.

edit: I'd swear I've seen Barack Obama in the hall of fame the turn before last.

Barak is down in the polls this month.  He lobbied hard for universal flea treatments that some more conservative Yogis have labeled socialist.  He got a big enough boost last month, a brilliant piece of diplomacy securing concessions from Mictlan for the death of Big Jeb, that he won Heroic Strength and the Guru Ghandi Peace Prize.  He might be down now, but don't you dare count him out!

I have got to start seeing some pictures of all this.  Kailasa is awesome, I've always had a sweet spot for Jotunheim, and I've never had a chance to see the glory of Mictlan beyond the one photo they have on that shameful excuse for a wiki.

And, since that wiki excuse is as shameful as it is, I don't even know what Hinnom is.

In a nutshell, Hinnom is a bunch of Mesopotamian-style anthropophagous giants descended from licentious angels. Blood nation, with some of the strongest troops (and PD) in the game. Their heroes, some of their commanders, and sacred troops eat population, which unsurprisingly generates unrest.
