Invalidating other people's problems?

normally I wouldn't really do something like that, I get that people have different perspectives that cause them to view situations differently. But in this case, the person managed to get the cook working with me chewed out by our boss for little to no reason, all because they can't handle themselves.

Please don't leave life. I would be sad if you did, and nobody can pick up that slack.  I hope things get better for you soon.

Sorry I can't give any actual advice, I suck at that kind of thing.

Working on this paper way too slowly. It's due tomorrow. Come the fuck on, I knew I'd do this. I should have started it earlier. I need to make a schedule or something for the next one for doing at least the majority of it in advance.

I always try to make those plans. I fail 90% of the time and it becomes an 11th hour affair.

How to give advice...

Yeah I don't know what to say, and I lived through the experience of not seeing the point in life last year. I still don't know what the point in life is, but now at least I'm determined to follow through with my chosen purpose: helping others. Of course, I'm crap at it, but what have you.

Blegh. I spent the first two decades of my life getting good at being right. I wish I'd realized sooner how much more important it is to get good at becoming right. No particular relevance.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

jesus i'm going to fucking kill myself

all of this bullshit over my shitty minor, might not graduate on time, might have to take out a $15k loan and miss applying to grad school this spring because this asshole professor doesn't know what he's doing and this minor was designed by a retard...

and i could have fucking solved it if i'd just had the sense to switch minors. i'd already substituted so damned much that i could have knocked a certain other one out with three low-level classes

but no, i trusted people who screwed me over and forgot about me

excuse me, going to maybe metaphorically jump off a bridge and hope that a time-traveler catches me

With all that's been going on in this thread lately, please don't use this in a joking way. I'm not sure how much more my heart can take of the worry. :-\

Alternatively: Don't do it!

Was talking to a GP about why I want to see a psych.
Talk about blah blah worried I'm misogynist, blah blah people say I'm becoming depressed blah.

'Ok but before I refer you I'll need to get a blood test just to make sure it's not a physical thing'
"Hey, that's a pretty good idea. I might just do that."
'... Uh huh'.
So she's like 'Why didn't you come earlier'?
So I say "Well I realized that seeing a psych isn't a sign of weakness but something every privileged white person should do"
... Blinks
Realizes my GP is an Indian woman.
"... That was meant to be sardonically funny... not... overwhelmingly racist"
'That's fine... Let's move on'

Augh first let me pick up all this spaghetti.

If he's mad that Puerto Rico isn't defending in an appeal to overturn the same-sex marriage ban... probably.
