There was a shooting. No more than 250 meters from my home.
Apparently, some guy was being chased in car by people with machine guns. They passed right in front of a local mall (in fact, my mom took me there to do an errand no more than 30 minutes after the event happened) and then the guy fled to a Pricesmart lunchroom. The people chasing him came, killed a guard and started shooting the man. The stray bullet also hit and killed another person, a student at a local university who was eating there.

I feel sadness, rage, and terror, but this seemed the most appropriate thread.
That's... Wow. In a bad way.

Wow... just wow. I think this is DEFINITELY the best place to put this, although the Terrified thread comes close.

The problem about pressing charges on kids is that juvie is a horrible place that will almost guarantee that the kid who get out will become criminals.
Yeah, but when kids are willing to cut open other kids (for any reason), I don't exactly have high hopes for them anyway.
You know, sometimes I feel A Clockwork Orange actually had the idea right after all. It's more humane than killing them, innit?

...Your dad is a helicopter? ???
Now I'm just plain confused. This isn't another sequel to that terrible Cars movie, is it?
Its a metaphor for parents that ALWAYS hover over you, like a helicopter.
Learn to dodge cars, walk into busy street, problem solved.
In all seriousness, tell the authorities. Go for a walk and find a cop if you have to. Hell, tell 'em you're being molested if it's the only way to get their attention.

And so the world tumbles into darkness, one repressed asshole at a time.

On a much more interesting note, I overslept, and now the work shift which was way away in the future is on my doorstep. I've completely wasted my day.

I don't think it's a copycat, it's just another asshole who thinks he's owed "putting out."

I'm just glad acid attacks aren't popular here.

Either way, I don't like it.
Well yeah, liking the fact that someone was killed isn't very conducive to social structures.
Deliberately missed points aside, yeah it sucks that people kill people.

No one was killed or even injured this time. Plus the shooter ran away.

I don't think it was a deliberate copycat, but still a little to close to home for my liking.

Somehow the Redline OST is not helping my creativity.

Why have you forsaken me Sweet JP?! WHY!??

Also, IG, if you've any concerns and...well, at the moment aren't sure or bothered--try to PM someone here who you know would be likely to help. @Sirus (and others): On the note of IG's expecting help, I do believe that...well, in his case, its less than some kind of malevolent 'I demand x' idea and more of...well, something akin to counseling. He needs aid, that's the motive. Personally, I'm thinking a friend willing to aid him before a counselor--somewhere to put trust in and give assurance...The friend-you-can-believe-in thing. I'm bad at wording things and that was my first background-thought when replying. <_<

On that note IG: most of us who reply to you in question are open in PMs. Hope you're doing ok :-\

Edit: Oh hello 30+ replies :I
Argh >_>

...Wow :-\
