If we had snails around here, I'd totally be painting them right now.

I get no satisfaction from getting paid.

This is bad. I'll find it harder to do jobs I dislike.
Getting satisfaction from spending the money on awesome shit you don't need.

Somehow I doubt people who would be of the persuasion to do that in a way he'd like...would run in conservative circles. I still don't believe in the existence of Log Cabin Republicans.

TL;DR republican group in every way except more pro-LGBT.

A Pro-LGBT Republican group. Their greatest achievements were making progress on getting Don't Ask Don't Tell rendered unconstitutional (Congress ended up repealing it before they could reach SCOTUS) and trying to save the GOP from themselves.

The GOP is basically Slytherin. A nominally alright idea* corrupted by hate** into a dying/reviled/nobody-wants-to-be-in-Slytherin/called-a-Republican group. The only people they keep getting are the people who don't care about what others think, or are too stupid to know better. Or who honestly believe in the hate.

*A party for people who think the free-market is better than public services, more or less, and on the Slytherin side, a house that admires and breeds ambition above the other 3 houses (courage, smarts, and hard-work/loyalty being those other houses)

**Basically anyone who isn't a middle-aged or older old white man making over 250K annually, and anyone who isn't a pure-blooded wizard. I'll let you guess which is which.
