Dave Brubeck died on Wednesday

Oh, that is sad. Brubeck was a major figure for me when I was learning Jazz... his music ranged from the upbeat, surprising, and fun, to the absolutely haunting (still get chills on that intro). I always wanted to be able to emulate Paul Desmond's supremely laid-back, smooth style on the Sax as well.

Brubeck and his band were greats among contemporary musicians, and a major stylistic inspiration for me.

Relatively minor, but I had to file a customer complaint against the pizza place I've been a loyal customer at for years. Apparently, the manager didn't get the notice on the current promotion, and he instructed the delivery driver to demand proof of it (something that's never been expected in the past), and to warn me "not to try that shit again.)

The parent corporation routinely sends out promotion codes that you can use when ordering. The ones they sent out for the Holiday season were extremely good, and  I didn't feel like cooking today, so I placed a decent-sized order. It worked out to be about a 40% discount. The manager of my location apparently didn't know about the promotion, and threw a hissy fit.

my brand new cherry mx blue all mechanical backlit keyboard with a steel plate base is pretty nice (almost as clicky and solid as an old Model M), i dont even have to pry the windows keys off because they lock...

but its hard to keep my fingers on wasd now that they don't have grooves worn almost all the way through the plastic.

Its affecting my accuracy and response times.
