Wasnt there something about French and English feet being mixed up and thus painters making Napoleon smaller then he was, evne tough he was an average height for his time?

Fun fact: Neanderthal males averaged 65-66 inches. The "short" thing is a cultural goof.

@dhokarena: Oh. Yeah, I see what I did there. I, for one, welcome our future Lilliputian over...err, underlords.

Yeah, I recall reading that he was about that height. The problem was the difference between the French and English inches, and the English newspapers knowing this and not giving a damn because it's good propaganda. The guys in his guard all being 6'+ probably didn't help any.

So apparently there's an armed gunman running around my hometown right now who has shot at least two people. I leave for one month and everything goes crazy...

My sources indicate he offed himself very recently (like, last hour or so). Actually, it's unclear but that 2nd shooting might be the suspect from the 1st one. Looks like maybe a domestic violence incident....murder-suicide.  :(

A human foot or an Imperial foot? (although those are roughly the same in my case...)

More precisly, there are 25.4 mm to the inch. With 12 inches to the foot, there are 304.8 mm to one foot.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
