Fill the bottle with colored water, and super-glue it shut.

Booby traps are generally illegal. Better just not to keep high quality booze in the office, but... maybe that's asking too much. ;)

It's ballroom, gotta do the right dance. And don't worry dudes, I have a dude on this determined to teach me stuff and get me to ask at least three ladies to the floor.

Buddies, asking the ladies is the least of my problems. Not even a problem, they are all friends anyway. It's the whole knowing the routines thing.

It really depends on the /sort/ of ballroom dance. A great many of them will fit most any song within a decent tempo range, so long as you've got a partner who can keep up. And you should really be able to get decent coverage with a slow dance and a fast dance. If you learn the style halfway decently, you should be able to drop a few moves to extend the tempo range and still make it look pretty fluid. And if the songs unfamiliar, you may have to use a bit more filler than is otherwise wise if it does something unexpected, but that is why almost every dance HAS filler moves.

Unless we're talking /formal/ ballroom dancing, like with the complicated hand offs and shit. Then you need to be able to do the dance everyone else is doing. But other than situation...

Of course, I'm not really sure what you mean by 'routines', here. I mean, to me, routines are fun to come up with if your putting on a performance or trying to impress people or in a competition or something, but you don't really need a routine to just dance with someone at a social event, do you? I mean, sure, routines make it a lot easier on the lady, especially if you're poor at signaling, but it sounds like the ladies aren't the problem here. :P

Spent 6 hours trying to get the sediment transport for my terrain erosion simulation to work with the fluid model I implemented yesterday; got nowhere. Since the simulation is being done entirely on the GPU using CUDA, there are 512 cores running in parallel, which when combined with the fluid model's resemblance of a complex cellular automata (in that cells change their value based on neighboring values), debugging is a major pain in the rear. It's one of those nasty cases where this can: A: fail silently, B: cascade across the entire simulation when a failure occurs, C: fail unless the equations are perfectly symmetrical as far as inflow and outflow. And having several thousand blocks of 256 threads queued up to run on the GPU can cause its own sort of problems if I forget to sync something correctly.

For those curious, I'm pretty much building the model from this paper, though I may modify some bits if I don't find them satisfactory: http://www2.tech.purdue.edu/cgt/Facstaff/bbenes/private/papers/Stava08SCA.pdf

lol @ people who think making video games is just playing video games

Though if all goes well, I'll have an erosion simulation which should be better than that in From Dust. And due to the specifics of the implementation, lava isn't out of the question either, since the equations are the same, but with a few values poked around.

Oh god, physics coding.

I tried to learn how to do fluid simulation once about five times or so. Never quite figured it out.

I'm upset that the spindle of old CD's and computer games that contained my copy of Rollercoaster Tycoon and all the expansions has disappeared, and I suspect that my Mom has thrown it away in her frantic redneck renovation of the house.

Dammit, me and RCT had memories together.

GoG anyone?

Parents arguing all the time, gradually getting worser. They even have theese "Relationship Therapy/Counselling/Whatever" thing every week. Now they are talking cryptically "Frank, you have to face the reality, things dont end well all the time" my mom said to my dad. Its alk about money issues and her stress problem. Another reason why money, tax and asshole swallow-all-the-money socialist regimes are the worst things ever made.

Im beginning to realise what they are up to...

I generally don't like rich people, and I realize this is probably an extreme example or something. I don't care. This woman donated a Kidney so her ailing boss could move up the transplant list; this got her boss a Kidney.... So they demanded that after donating her Kidney, she return back to work long before her boss did after receiving a Kidney.... Of course she couldn't.... They fired her, and after her boss yelled at her for taking recovery time that saved said boss' life. That bitch.... :(

No good deed goes unpunished....

So, about that kidney...Yeah, I'm going to need that back.

Hehehe...bad parents huh?

My Step-Dad (tentatively) and Mom can't be in the same room for one minute (ONE) without getting into a heated argument over what they ate a few hours ago, or how their faces look, or that one of them pronounced a word wrong.  It's fucking pathetic.  They've been together for sixteen years.  That's essentially my entire life.

The strangest atmosphere I've ever experienced frequently is talking to my brother civilly when we can both hear our parents bitching but we pretend to ignore it.

And yeah, money hurts too.  I swear if one of them actually won a billion dollars from the hundreds of thousands they gambled they'd both kill each other so they could have the largest sum.

Oh god that happened to me.  They came up from the crawlspace under the house.  Even though I didn't have any food they could get at, they came inside for the /warmth/.

Nuke them at the hole ASAP no matter how hard it is to get there.  There's no way to keep them from getting in once they've decided that's where they want to go.

I think they've gotten in through the pipes, they seemed to gather around that funny elastic plastic around the base of the faucet in the bathtub. I also applied insecticide at the base of the door, but someone's going to have to check in and figure out what to do about the goddamn ants.

Followed by a "thanks for saving my life you stupid poor person, now screw off."
_________________________________________________________________________________

I'm paying the bills etc for an old person who can't via probate etc.... I have repeatedly told one of their god damn relatives to order more checks from the bank. I have recorded this numerous times to this person. The checkbook has run out of checks and I cannot pay the bills, no matter how much money is in the account, without checks. I cannot use autopay, because the court demands a record. 6 times I have told this person to order more damn checks because I cannot. They have not.

They have called up today bitching about how the utilities are going to be turned off and I set the phone down on my desk to do something else for a few minutes while they yelled at the wood, then came back to them and interrupted their stupidity.

"And how am I supposed to pay the bills without the checks I have repeatedly told you to order more of? I I told you to order more on the following dates in person 3/27, and 4/1. I told you to order more via leaving a voice-mail on the following dates: 2/14, 2/19, and 3/14. I told you via phone to do it on the following dates: 3/21, and 4/5. Now here it is 4/24 and you're yelling at me for something I told you I can't do and you must. Get ... me... more... checks.... Get ... it ... together...."

I am so damn sick of this. When I say to do something like that it isn't a suggestion. It isn't that these people are incapable of understanding this--worse--they just don't freaking want to understand it and actively refuse to. I can't pay these bills without checks for the checkbook given that this is how the court mandated it be paid. Don't tell me "you can do it online," because the judge said no.... I don't want to remove this relative from the situation because that would mean more responsibility for me in this mess.

The hell is wrong with people...? It was "do this" not "suggest demand in a snotty voice what you think should be done."
