Ephebe, iirc, refers to children between the ages of 12-16, thus 'Ephebophile'.

I believe that an Ephebophile is someone who is sexually attracted to a postpubescent minor.

I sat down to do some writing, so before beginning I put together how I wanted it to go together and figured out some more of the details for that world. Then went on to sculpt more details about worlds to come, then more and more and I've now approximately doubled the size of the story... Without even writing a word.
This is something like the third time I've done this in a row, and it was originally supposed to be a short story too!
I always do this, it's so frustrating.

Worked at McDonalds for the first time today.  Never in my life have I ever felt to frustrated, alone, helpless, and infuriated.  The manager who has been arranging my orientation/training said she would train me today.  She was never there.  Apparently she never put me on the schedule, or set me up with an employee number to sign in with.  But I didn't know that until halfway through my shift, after standing for over an hour watching video tutorials then being "trained" by an employee who spoke hardly any English.  I spent the next couple hours cleaning tables, cleaning floors, taking out the trash, and wondering if I was doing anything right at all.  I felt utterly humiliated, I felt utterly alone.  Then the manager on duty finally explained the situation, and let me take a 10 minute break.  I had a nice chicken salad with water and felt significantly better.  But not good enough to want to continue working there.  I don't care if people say I'm a weakling or a failure for giving up this soon.  I'm getting out of this living hell and finding a job I can actually feel good about zmnmnzbcvkjhb

A point of advice, based on personal experience: don't up and leave a job until you have a suitable alternative. I've walked out on really unpleasant work environments, despite really needing the money, and was out of work for months while I struggled to land a new job. You're in charge of your own life, but if the work is a thing of necessity for you, and/or you want to be free from financial dependency, try to tough it out and make the best of the job. That won't keep you from looking for an alternative, but it also wont leave you without an income.

</my two cents>

I'll definitely find another source of income first.  I'm attending college soon, I need the money.  I just hope this job doesn't give me mental instability issues or something.  If every day of work is like this though... x_X

You could get encouragement out of it. A summer job I had   (as a cinema doorman, which tbh was far less strenuous than any mcdonalds job. Indeed, it leaned on the relaxed side of things) made me vocalize to myself that I was not willing to do that stuff on a permanent basis. Use your class hatred to study harder *raspy voice*

On the other hand, do realize you're going to find asshole bosses and unpleasant tasks everywhere, and Mcdonalds is hardly a fulfilling job, but then agwin no temp job is

Woke up with another cold. I think I'm going to go and see a doctor about the endless stream of them I seem to be catching in the last few months.

In related news, I wish I were reading or watching Watchmen.  Or Dragonball (mostly on the reading part, definitely not with the watching).
So the manga is worth a read? I never could get into the anime despite many knowing many who loved it back when it was on TV.

I get adrenaline shakes when I get into arguments on the internet, still.

That's kind of pathetic.

Nah, it's a natural response when you get really heated, if you read something that makes you super angry.
I've had this at work a few times after arguments with lower management. They're with one guy in particular who tends to explode at the smallest of things. He's almost got fired and another time transferred away from our store for it. It always leaves me feeling oddly pathetic.

That's good. You should find it far easier to find another job if you've already got one. At least that's what I'm always being told.

Yeah, Dragonball is probably my favorite manga I've ever read, which is saying a lot (when I stopped counting, I'd finished reading through more than 90 series).  I could go on and on about white space, communication, brush style, and all sorts of technical crap, but instead I'm just going to say that it's good.  It also predates a lot of the issues with modern shonen manga and invented/popularized most of the staples of the genre, so at the very least it has historic value X3

Better to read it in some language other than English, though.  It's best in Japanese because a lot of the jokes make more sense when you're couched in that culture and mood (I've never found a translation of the Great Saiyaman arc in any language that kept mood intact), but I've also read through in French and it wasn't too bad.

Fuck it, I really have to go buy Hellsing and the rest of Blade of the Immortal in Japanese... think I'm going to try to pick up boxed sets of GitS, too.  And that one missing disk of Last Exile, and of Lain.  And the Watchmen movie.  And a bunch of computer games :I

Uh, when I have some money and time for all that >_>  But for now, it's back to...
