And for the record, in my experience psychologists tend to treat you like an experiment. Psychologists tend to be focused on the medicine side of things, whereas psychiatrists don't do drugs.

(..)
Psychologists do therapy, but since they're in high demand and usually have little time for individual patients, that's usually done mostly by psychiatrists since they haven't undergone the extremely extensive education needed to dish out medicine. Since a lot of guesswork goes into the use of psychoactive drugs
I don't know where your experience comes from, but I think you're deeply mistaken. A psychologist is a graduate from psychology (duh) and, at least here, cannot prescribe drugs. A psychiatrist is a doctor who has undergone specialization in psychiatry and can prescribe drugs.

It's not his fault, the two terms are hard to separate.

It helps to remember the "-trist" part generally indicates a doctor.

I claim posting while sleepy and suffering from a flu shot as an excuse.
But yes, I really need to learn to double check my facts.

Sorry guys, feel free to ignore the crazy person in the corner.

*sigh*

Played games?  Yes, for one hour.

Now I have approximately a billion pages to read today (more Infinite Jest, Rousseau, and whatever my sadistic law professor has assigned for the week).  Dunno, I guess I just feel like working today, but the negative side of this is that I'd like to be able to just do math, but I have a 1,000 page book to read by next Wednesday and it's not going to read itself.

I had a lot of weird dreams last night, too.  Either my professors have learned to psychically project, or I've internalized their instructions even more than I thought.

Maybe there's a library near you that has the book as a book on tape. Then you could listen to it while you do the math stuff.

My money is on ghosts. They're better at the whole dream projection thing. Good ol' Professor Krueger.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I don't think I got enough sleep last night, I'm acting like a philosophical dick.

Always happens when I stay up, I just don't know when I make myself look like an asshole over extremely petty things.

Stupid internet getting my hopes up about an apartment before I checked the location. No, Internet, when there is 50 miles between two cities, they are not the same place, and you should not have listings from one in the other.

Dear cold weather: Fuck you.

Dear Infinite Jest: Fuck you too.

Dear teacher who told me to read it: I like you very much, but this is just SLIGHTLY over the line in terms of things I wanted to do with my time this weekend.  RRARRRRLLL
