London?

The news might have mentioned it a tad.

I have no idea why, but a really nasty bout of depression is happening.

On the other hand, I suspect I am going to be significantly more productive as long as it lasts, which could be a real boon.

I wish my depression would work that way  :-\
That would allow me to get off my medication and I could self-improve myself until I stopped being depressed.

Well, it means that my interest in trying to do things that make me happy is significantly diminished, and unless I have a sudden crisis of Dutifulness, I'll just do what needs doing.  You know, don't think about the future or anything.  Just the next couple of minutes.

My issue is more of self-esteem, so that no matter how much self-improvement I manage I never feel satisfied.

I'm sure I have various internet handtools around here somewhere, no problem mates.

At least this gives me a chance to clean out a bunch of junk again.

Trying to learn to read music, and music theory in general. Have more than 20 pages of coursework to get through by Friday related to this subject, and I am getting by at about a page every hour.

To some extent, that's normal for a hungry mind.

Yeah, it's just getting a bit weird when I think, multiple times per day: "Aww, fuck, I don't know anything!" and then rattle off a long list of things that I'd like to do in the next hour but more realistically will probably take a few years to complete.

On the other hand, other than my goals of getting better at sewing, I actually did manage to do everything on last year's to-do list (and much, much more).  That's kind of surprising.

Slightly sadder now: Army may be brought in to stop the rioting.

When I am depressed, I tend to do much less of what needs doing, and instead focus of things that "make me happy" AKA distract me temporarily from my misery. And what makes it worse is that I have fought through so many ridiculous challenges in my life, it should be easy. But a little depression is something I can't seem to climb myself out of.

And for the Bass clef: Good Boys Deserve to procrastinate the Fuck off, Always.
I play Baritone Horn in Treble Clef. Guest directors, few and far between as they are, hear that our band has a Baritone and then bring with them all of their Bass Clef Euphonium parts for me to flail at. I don't know bass clef, and I can't actually depress the fourth valve to get that note when it's not there. Treble Clef is where it's at, though. Low notes are cool, but when people write parts, they assume that anything playing bass clef is a slow and clumsy instrument that can't handle the melody.

As for depression, I occasionally get super pissed off at myself because I haven't done anything, and proceed to do the shit out of everything until I pass out. In short, I don't get depressed, I get MAD. And it's actually pretty productive.
