Saw this little dint on cuba. :(
I did not know that. I'm not sure I ever wanted to know that, but it's terrible. As an oversight on my part and as an event.

Cut my mouth open on some bread. Seeing the edge of the bread be colored blood red instead of vinegar...vinegar was my first clue. Damned hard bread, that.

On a completely unrelated note, I have received word my grandmother has finally died. This was known to be imminent; she's been in Hospice care since Saturday night, and pretty much every day since then was potentially the final one. It just happened to be tonight, rather than yesterday or tomorrow. Somehow, it's still something of a surprise.

I can't say I'm very sad at all, though I recognize that since it's a bit premature to be definite since it hasn't been half an hour since I got the news. It isn't as if I was particularly close to her; I believe that my memories only really begin to stick with me about the same time the dementia was setting in. So, for the majority of my life, she has been my grandmother, yet also been increasingly demented. That situation sort of precluding getting to know her terribly well, so I don't think her death will have a huge impact on its own... I'm more concerned about my father and grandfather, really. But time will tell how they react. And how I react.

Incidentally, I ended up learning that while watching this, and I really don't know what to think of that. The wonders of timing.

I know what that's like.  While I had various great and great-great-grandparents still alive all the way up to my mid-twenties, only two of them were women (who remained perfectly lucid) and the men no longer knew who I was by the time I was old enough to have lasting memories of them.

My dad treated his grandfather like his father figure, since his dad died when he was 14(?).  My family talks about him like he was the greatest guy ever, and the stories about him are fascinating.  When I try to recall any interaction with him, the only thing I remember is arriving at the nursing home really excited to see him, walking up to him sitting in the lobby and saying "Hi Pop!", and him looking at me like an alien and replying "Who are you??"

Computer has decided that running Homeworld 2 Complex mod is a really difficult thing for it to do. As such, it turns itself off whenever it feels that it's under too much strain. This essentially means any capital ship fights with more than 6 ships at a time, and that's pushing it. Hell, more than 3 players means it'll turn itself off whenever it wants to.

Homeworld 2 is a game that's older than my computer. What the fuck is going on with this giant stack of shit?

Also, the new butter tastes of salt, not butter. It's not very nice. I know butter is a bit salty, but this is a lot salty, and it made my Toast taste nasty.

1. Crushes can burn to death

I have never had a “crush”, so I am sure that I know nothing about them. Does the burning to death happen often?

EMERGENCY EDIT:
I suddenly recall that you do not play Dwarf Fortress, so the chances of this being some manner of dwarfish humor is exceedingly low, and, considering the lugubrious content in many of your posts, it seems most likely that this is some reference to a tragic event in your past that I have deigned to verbally prod. Apologies.

Someone you're thinking about and you're not sure if you're excited to have a potential friend or interested romantically.

Knowing me, it's door number one.  My friendships usually start with either

a. Hatred/rivalry
b. Romantic sentiment

Without some sort of emotional kickstart, I mostly ignore folks.  So, eh.  We'll see if I light him on fire or not.

Finally broke down and installed Steam, found out I needed to buy a game from it to add friends. Well, that was a waste of time.

I knew what the word “crush” meant. I just put it in quotes to placate my peculiar brand of pedantry by using what it considers to be a crude neologism while clearly marking it as something I would not ordinarily write. No, it does not make sense. Yes, I shall henceforth keep my social clumsiness out of threads where people are sharing painful experiences.

Fenrir flashes an awkward, toothy grin. He casts a few uneasy glances around the room before turning to trot out the door.

You could buy something for like $1.  Hell, tell your friends and they'll probably buy you something for $1.

Too young to have a credit card, and only 1.5 GB hard drive space in any case.

... Bro, socially awkward or not, it sounds like the only reason why you commented was to inform me that you'd never been attracted to anyone.

That's cool for you, but I don't really know how productive it is.

Do you need to have a game installed in order to make a friends list?...  You know you can have a game purchased for your account without installing it, right?  A lot of those cheap indy games take up no space anyway.  You'd have room for Terraria, easily.

Actually, I wonder if you could download something for free and get it working that way.  Some small demo or something.
