Oh. Well I think you essentially hit the nail on the head with that, since it seems the complaints are all indeed about "service." Because obviously there's no way that a game can appeal to straight guys unless it's sexually...
No, the "servicing" part is about Bioware not making games for het male only (or near only), thus servicing them. Not about the characters' action in games. Though yeah, it kinda fits there as well, but that's kinda grasping. Anyway, I think David Gaider (who I do not usually find myself agreeing much with) of Bioware summed up the cause of this ridiculous kind of sentiment quite well:
And if there is any doubt why such an opinion might be met with hostility, it has to do with privilege. You can write it off as "political correctness" if you wish, but the truth is that privilege always lies with the majority. They're so used to being catered to that they see the lack of catering as an imbalance. They don't see anything wrong with having things set up to suit them, what's everyone's fuss all about? That's the way it should be, any everyone else should be used to not getting what they want.
Spoiled brats are spoiled.
Also lol on Gayder, just to get it over with.
...
(...There should really be a *childish* smiley to make sure people now I'm just being.. well, childish)
edit: This is so much worse, though, and I somehow missed it when I read the thread earlier today:
Its ridiculous that I even have to use a term like Straight Male Gamer, when in the past I would only have to say fans.
Get out of my gaming and back into my kitchen(/suitable stereotypical "homosexual" activity), woman(/gay people)! How dare you have interest that coincides with mine!
