Overheard a co-worker verifying the spelling of someone's name by asking, "O-L-S-E-N?"

Before I could stop myself, I adopted an exaggerated John Cleese voice and responded, "B-I-R-D-S??"

I'm not such which is sadder: that I'm such a geek that the joke came to mind reflexively, or the fact that no one I work with is geeky enough to have gotten it.

The second of the two is definitely much sadder. Normal people are boring. >_>

My computer just restarted for no apparent reason. Weird.

There are no error logs either.

Apparently, trying to open 50 tabs at once crashes anything except IE.
Huh.

It took a couple minutes of loading, but Firefox 4 beta just opened 500 tabs.

It depends a lot on the content of the tabs and what kind of rig you have, too.

What other things you're doing matters as well.

Vista likes to restart itself without asking you so it can apply updates sometimes.  It will also not bother to let you save any of your work.  I don't recall if 7 does that since I disabled the updater.

So my crundles are staying intact unless they're newly spawned... until they are exposed to anything that isn't at room temperature.  This mostly seems to mean blood, specifically, their own.  Then they go poof very quickly.

I've fixed the updater in 7 on my laptop, all it does is say "Hey! theres updates!" but doesn't actually do anything unless I actually tell it to install the stuff.

It makes me very sad when my work machines do that.

There was no "Shutting down..." or "Restarting" screen. It simply turned black for a few seconds and the BIOS splash screen came up.

The acoustics in the stairwell are perfect for amplifying my parents being racist right into my room.
