Have you never seen a regular landline phone before in your life? Or do you live in some country that uses incredibly different standards from the US (which would be the first I've heard of it)? I'm not talking about cordless handsets, which obviously need more power to function. I'm talking about a regular touch-tone landline phone.

I used to have a land-line phone that had no base-set.  It was just a handset w/ keypad that plugged strait into the wall.  The hang-up-button-thing was on the bottom of the mouthpiece, so you hung it up by laying it on a counter.  It confused the Hell out of people, because they just couldn't grasp that it worked like any other phone, sans base.

The wonderful thing about good old-fashioned landline phones is that, if you lost power locally, you could usually still make and get calls, since any power needed was delivered over the phone line, from the phone company itself.

I wish I could still get one. Cordless digital handsets are all fine and dandy, but I kinda liked those old dangly curled cords that you could stretch when you needed to take a call into the other room... plus analogue phone lines have their benefits. Ah, nostalgia.

I have one of those landline phones tucked away encase of power outages.

I have a corded touch-tone phone shaped like a rotary phone (and a rotary phone that doesn't work).  It says "Gotham" on it, so clearly it is the hotline to the Batcave.

You had better edit that out before the Joker finds that information and murders you for the ability to prank call Batman.

I've seen every single episode of the Animated Series.  Why the Hell did that plot never happen?

Skimming through it on a whim, I found that the first two pages of Forum Games and Roleplaying were entirely filled with threads posted in today. The first thread that didn't have a post since yesterday was near the top of the third page. I haven't even glanced at the two subforums. This is... making me reconsider a couple things.

How fast does that section normally move?

I've had a horrible apathy all day. It goes away and I can enjoy myself but it just comes right back. This is so sucky and I don't even know what to do about this.

For non-multiplayer games: FAST.
For games that require actions from several people (or games that have parts that do): Heavily reliant on Timezone-related luck, except the things that are planned ahead of time or the games that are willing to let people fall behind.

Argh my sinuses are exploding out of my face. I can't even see right with my eyes being pressed so much by the internal pressure.
