Absolutely. But by the time it happened I couldn't even connect to the router wirelessly. I was about to throw it out. And it's worked perfectly since then. So I dunno. It seems like something that would be disastrous, but I haven't had a problem with it since. I'm sure it'll drastically reduce the lifespan of the device, but I got an extra year out of the thing at least.

I just chalk it up to Netgear making awful routers. When the thing does eventually die I know I won't buy another one.

I once spent a long while running my old laptop with a lower voltage than it needed. (I think it was half). I was using an universal adaptor, and forgot to adjust it up after runing my netbook on it. It did work, but as soon as something resource intensive (such as installing a new OS) came up, it hung up. It took me a week to realize the cause
