*hugs TA*

You should talk to somebody.  Maybe the counseling staff at your school.  That sounds like depression.

If there's anything I can help with, please, let me know.

well yeah ive been diagnosed with depression for years whats new

though the feelings of unreality, time lapses, and periods of literally forgetting who i am are way more intense lately

Sounds more like dissociation... something or other, can't remember the details.

But it also sounds like what happens to me when I go for a long time on not a lot of sleep. Do you sleep well?

When I say long time I mean weeks when I sleep for fewer than 6 hours per night/sleep cycle.

yeah i sleep pretty well i think? at least around 7 hours usually

i looked up dissociative disorders and i reeeeally don't want to self-dx because some people who do that are terrible people to be grouped with but it definitely does sound like a dissociative disorder

'Tis something to see a pro about if possible, most definitely.

That depends on the therapist, really. I've only been to two, one of which was super bubbly and the other of which was very... matronly (both ladies)

I would've thought given those descriptions I'd have had more success with the latter, but the former was pretty good at not only describing what the therapies they were using were s'posed to do, but actually getting me to do them and have them stick in my head.

Anyhow, the relationship between a therapist and a client is important, but even just going to see your GP and getting a referral could help. I imagine this stuff is freaking you out, so at the very least they'll be able to explain what's happening and what you might be able to do about it.
