EX:"Hey guys, sorry if I make you mad but i'm just learning this game."

Noob: A person who annoys fellow gamers/always does the undesired option.
EX: LOL I SHOT YOU LOL! "Shut up Noob" NO YOUR THE NOOB! I AM L33T!!! ROFL!

Not a leap

Since it is slang it means there is no official definition you can claim.

For example when you say "I feel good today" someone can say "No, you mean well" because that is an official word that has been indoctrinated.

When you say "No you mean Newb not Noob" your saying words that arn't indoctrinated and thus your basically enforcing what you want it to mean.

I don't go around saying "Hey FTW means For those Wondering not For The Win" (as much as it makes a lot more sense)

Yes, but at the same time, YOU can't define it however you want.  Slang gets defined by its popular use.  Whether or not you disagree with the way it is used doesn't matter.

It's a joke that pokes fun at noobs. It's not in bad taste to poke fun at innocent newbies. And everyone knows that acknowledging the existence of n00bs only encourages them.

The best way to handle a "n00b" is to help them mature into a respectable member of the fourm.

I dont see why you would want to get rid of a n00b, their such characters.
