Firstly, are you holding anything of use?
Strengthen your mental defenses.
Try to find something close to you that you can use to attack the glob. Maybe grab a loose brick from the fireplace to throw.
Can you get the wire? It's hot, I know. But you have scales. Can you smash it free?"
