The Jedi were tbh, kidnapping all force sensitive children the galaxy over and training them into unstoppable murdermachines while trying to squeeze out every bit of emotion

I blame George Lucas... I think its pretty clear that he never "got" what made the original trilogy tick.  Obi Wan and Yoda throughout the original trilogy find the least violent solutions to their problems, almost to a fault; their disagreement with Luke at the end of episode V could be looked at as emotion vs cold logic... or you could look at it as "you're the galaxy's only hope, don't go die in a blaze of glory."  And indeed Luke's ultimate victory at the end of the original trilogy is won by mercy rather than violence.

To say nothing of the horrible pacing screw that child Anakin is.  If the first movie had been spent establishing Anakin and Obi Wan's friendship (instead of having that all occur offscreen), the prequels might be remembered as merely bad rather than, well, as the prequels.

Edoot: Playing Fallout:New Vegas. DARN STUCK on that one unmarked NCR quest, and the answer through skills of trawling online?

The trigger box that sets the variable is by the desk which had the holotape underneath it.
Stupidly it only checks if you have the holotape when you enter the trigger box, so it won't set the variable if you manage to pick up the holotape without entering or re-entering the box once you do have the holotape.

Returning to the trigger box is all that is needed.
This means that you shouldn't ever need to use the console command above.

You don't even need to listen to the holotapes.

I am so happy I learned how to search for these obscure answers in places through search engine knowhow. This got me stuck for 30 whole minutes figuring out how to complete that one quest. -_-
