A look at some of my classmates would make you doubt the veracity of that statement.

Azy, that's why I added the thing about getting complacent and set in their ways. Maybe it's better to say people never FINISH growing up. They just pause some parts of their self-improvement journey some times... maybe to focus on other things, or because they mistakenly think they've got it all figured out, or whatever. But it's a journey that doesn't have a final destination; "Adult" is just a direction, not a place or state of being.

Adulthood is different for everyone.  For me, being independent is just part of the transition to other people being dependent on you.  I used to find it slightly annoying when people middle-aged or older still called me a kid in my late teens/early twenties.  But now that late twenties/early thirties have been thoroughly dominated by narrowing every aspect of myself to be absolutely sure I provide for my family, I understand.  For someone who gets to focus more on themselves and what they want out of life, adulthood must end up meaning something different.

Now that I know the stuff flopping on the ground in my map is just leaves/bloomings it's actually kinda relaxing and cute to see the leaves just pop off the trees in autumn. I can't help but feel I'm advancing a bit slow though, I need to get some more industry up and stuff. At least I found out I could secure my corner of the map somewhat easily.
