Dig up our old copies of DF 1.0 out of nostalgia.

Got a pet snake.  :)

Been wanting one for years now and finally went and got a baby snow morph corn snake. It's so adorable I can't help but smile everytime I look at it's little face.  :D

Looking now, probably because they're naturally kawaii (big eyes for their faces).  Good choice (:

Kitten hand conversion seems to have gone into effect~

Still one more to assimilate into the wonders of fingers, but it's already running off less as its sibling gets turned into a leg thumping puddle of petted. Hopefully something won't eat these ones :V

Kittens love being petted but sometimes they don't know it yet, they can be skittish.
Ugh I keep talking about adopting a cat again but haven't done it yet...

More or less as per rol, yeah. Trying to get a couple of mostly feral kittens to accept human contact without freaking out and attacking or fleeing. Is working. Little hedonists prioritize plying fingers (and food) over survival instinct :V

At least once they figure out the fingers aren't a prelude to being eaten/punted/thrown-into-the-distance, anyway.

So this one time my gma and me woke up to a sound like a distant chainsaw, round 3AM.  Loud enough to wake me upstairs, and gma who can barely hear.
We meet downstairs and there's Luki, not moving a single inch, just staring down this huge fluffy white cat.  And growling like a thunderstorm.  I don't think she even looked at us, but she could tell we were there.  She was a thin, pure-black persian mix.  Loved us, liked people, hated anything else alive.  "Competition", I think (she was a rescue).
The poor white housecat had come in through a hole in the basement (used by her cat Tiger, when he was alive) and was just standing there.  It did look at us, and mewed so pitifully!
Gma took it outside, it didn't resist at all.  Luki just looked at me.  I thanked her for defending the house and she just started purring like crazy, even before I scratched behind her ears.
(I was so proud of her for not hurting the other cat!  Just growling at it until we could arrive.)

My brother swears he was sitting out on the porch years earlier, watching the deer graze, and saw her leap out of the tall grass at a buck.  It GTFO'd.
