When I say "babby's first", I mean it. Straight up tutorial-following. You can work out the stuff you'll need by working backwards from here in terms of its dependencies. Protip: Use Python 2, not 3. I'm seriously considering backporting everything I've done so far because nobody makes anything for Python 3 so nobody will ever make things for Python 3. *Grumble*

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I've done all my Python ever in 2.7 and I've never felt any need to upgrade :P

FWIW all of the python related classes at my university (and some of the ones my friends go to) switched over to python 3.0 as of last year, so I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing a lot more Python 3.0 stuff popping up in another 4-5 years.

I have a new GPU. Finally I can run modern games on graphical settings higher than the minimum.

The basics of neural networking aren't that hard to grasp, honestly. Programming a perceptron, that kind of thing.

A full 'net is more difficult, but even the single perceptron can do black magic.

Yeah, if you want the basics of how the model works you can get that here in under an hour, and you don't need too much background (bit of calculus). Real nets are basically big globs of those jammed one into the next, so vector calculus becomes a thing, but libraries abstract a lot of that to the point where you don't need to worry quite so much about the math. I'm a dumbass when it comes to code, and I've just started trying to do this stuff within the last coupla weeks, so the barrier to entry isn't too high. I highly recommend looking into it!

I finally got around to playing the release version of Doorkickers. It's pretty nice so far! Though I still well... Think it feels more like top down rainbow six than top down swat 4.

... I should also get back to swat 4. Maybe even give swat 3 a try.

... Well what can I say for myself? I just like the idea of kicking down doors and arresting or shooting bad guys .V

...unless they don't due to the previous lack of Py3 things, leading to the again-extended reign of Python 2.

Well, by 2020 Python 2.7 is apparently going to stop being supported except for security issues, so maybe after that happens.

If you look in life advice, you can find one of our resident know-it-all-know-nothings recommending windows xp as a better option than windows 7 with a straight face.

By 2020 there's still going to be people using the most barebones version of python because people are stupid and allergic to change. Oh, and javascript on browsers. And security questions. And likely ipv4 instead of ipv6. And flash.
