Politics is stupid.

By which I mean the very nature of it causes stupidity of the highest degree, which is to say ignoring facts because you don't agree with them.

I have never seen a politically-charged statement in person that wasn't complete idiocy.

They put a strict 1-hour-per-day limit on my siblings and I, against which I strained for the longest time. Then that become more "guidelines." Then, on getting the freedom of college, I find I have neither the time nor the inclination to game much.

Lack of access to vidya or what have you seems to have no bearing on my distraction. When I can't focus, I'll wind up reading a novel or something. But I believe I'd have been much worse without the regulations.

I had the same thing going. IMO, it accomplished the exact opposite of its stated goals. My friend and next door neighbor didn't have one; so for him, it was just another thing he could do, and eventually, partially because his computer was more wooden than a tree, he got bored of them.

Meanwhile, for me, it was a thing to be earned, and a thing to be time-managed for maximum enjoyment. So, eventually, with more freedom to play, I just ended up spending more time than I likely would have otherwise.
