Today I participated in
International TableTop Day at my Friendly Local Game Store (local being a couple towns away for me).
I played a game of
Small World where I started as Mounted Dwarves and later became Pillaging Halflings with indestructible Hobbit holes.
Then I played two games of
Betrayal at House on the Hill. In the first game I died from stat damage when I stupidly drank my potion on the first round the Omen was revealed (I didn't think I'd roll as low as I did), and the rest of the group then spent the rest of the game trying to kill a giant spider.
In the next game, we ended up with some alien thing that attacked our Might stat at the end of each of my turns (since I was the omen revealer), and one of us was the alien in disguise, who had a 50/50 chance to secretly infect anyone in the same room as them. I went around the room getting kitted out after the omen and had myself the Spear of Destiny, a mad man, the medkit (which I picked out when I got the crystal ball, since I had rather high Knowledge score, so I could pretty easily cure Might damage from the alien radiation or whatever), and a dog. So I was doing pretty well, but then some of the other players (who I later found out were aliens at the time), convinced me I should head toward the laboratory instead of looking for my goodies, since my rather high Knowledge stat meant I could pretty easily make the serum we were supposed to be making. I relented and headed their way, and in the turns leading up to mine they secretly infected the other uninfected player, who went on to infect me before I could take my next turn. And when they passed the serum onto that guy, I joked about how I was probably the only uninfected player left, not knowing how right I was until I took one of that player's two tokens from and found I had drawn a 1.
So I had fun today.
