Did I tell you about the time my brother's bracket came off in his sleep, and the wire went out through the side of his mouth?
Yeah, he had to get the outside and inside of his mouth stitched up, but worse was when the dentist had to reach into his cheek with a pair of pliers in order to fish it back through there.

I actually have had braces for a few years now. My teeth are really, really, really resistant to being pushed into proper shape for some fucking reason.

Speaking of that I have to go have them adjusted in a week. Hrm.

Luckily, I have pretty good teeth. My bottom ones are a little close, but not enough to need braces.

Several years of braces have gotten my teeth pretty much perfect relative to their neighbors, but never corrected my asymmetrical bite (not an over/underbite, like side-to-side asymmetry).

I'm sort of in the 21 years old and refuse to make it easier on my dentist groups.  A little bit of spite and a little bit of "I'm too old for this."

I bet I'll have slightly darker spots on the center of my teeth because I started brushing my teeth far better when I got braces :v

My teeth are nearly perfect. I inherited them from my dad, whose only visit to the dentist in the last ten years was because he lost a sizable chunk of a front tooth to an aerial leash. He has never had a cavity. Neither have I.
