So I'm stuck here in Albuquerque for a couple days. Ran out of usable on-duty hours (or at least, ran so low that I can't do anything useful with them) and won't get any more until the day after tomorrow.

Huzzah for a bit of relaxation! Plus there's lots of places to get food around here, within a nice walking distance. I have choices for once!
And don't worry, I will remember to take the left turn out of here.

Went to what has to be one of the best gigs I've ever been to yesterday, in the tiny little basement of a vintage store in town. Was freaking amazing. It always surprises me, the number of cool people who hide away in this cruddy, overgrown country town.

So I think I've got Win 8 behaving mostly how I want it.  And I've only had trouble because Emerge Desktop's compatibility is still a little spotty.

I swashbuckled a copy that installs with all of the worst win 8 complaints pre-customized away.  So my only headache was discovering that my favorite windows shell isn't fully compatible yet.  It does work, but for now, I'm going to see if I can get an interface going that I'm happy with without it.
