Please take discussion of Hate Plus to another thread? I really don't want to risk getting spoiled on it :(

Also, is it on Steam?

I use "he" in a gender neutral way. Actually, "they" would be the proper gender neutral way to address someone, I guess.

It's on steam, yes. No more spoilers then. I just want to point out you can skip the wait.

I don't even know what sort of wait you're talking about. I know virtually nothing about the game and I'd like to keep it that way until I play it :P

I'm reading all quiet on the western front.
Quote from: Chapter 6
There are rumors of an offensive. We go up to the front two days earlier than usual. on the way we pass a shelled school-house. Stacked up against its longest side is a high, double wall of yellow, unpolished, brand-new coffins. They still smell of resin, and pine, and the forest. There are at least a hundred.
"That's a good preperation for the offensive," says Müller astonished.

This is honestly the second most depressing work I've ever read. I love it. It's sometimes a little over the top, but it's extremely well written, and very evocative.

It's always a happy time when you find a powerfully moving piece of work. Doesn't matter the emotion. There's an enjoyable bitterness to the tumultuous turmoil of a powerfully saddening piece of work.
This... pretty much. Apologies if it's bringing other people down, but I serious love WW1/2 stories... Not the, rar rar, we fought hard and won, kind. But the real ones, which are mostly about bitter struggles and conflicts.

Don't get me wrong, both the wars were basically colossal tragedies. But the stories that came out of them... they have such an incredible depth of human emotion to them. It's something you just don't seem to see anywhere else.

Yeah. That's part of the reason I like vietnam stories, as well.

I tend to prefer WW1 military histories (like Lawrence) over WW2 military histories, because WW1 has more of a "This was a terrible tragedy for everyone", while WW2 has the tinge of "Roh roh roh, Fight da Nazis, go USA, go Allies!"

The civilian side, on the other hand... Well, I think that's fairly obvious. :/
