But I agree with Knight of Fools, I feel like on the whole it was better paced, storywise, and I definitely liked the characters better. Kreia might be one of my favorite characters in any video game.
That's why I loved KOTOR2 so much. Freaking Kreia making me question my goody-two-shoes attitude.
I remember when...
I got to some random space port and a dude started begging me for some credits. I was like, "Eh, I have millions. What's five credits?" and Kreia asks me why I gave it to him.
"To help him, of course! He needs it more than I do!"
"How nice. Did you think that you just made him a target for the criminals that infest this place?"
Queue video of dude getting stabbed and robbed. I was like, "Holy crap, what have I done?!"
Best part was that Kreia just wanted me to think about the consequences of my actions and didn't hate me just for trying to be good. She didn't care if I was good or not, she just wanted me to think and be aware of how much a small decision on my part, no matter how well intentioned and insignificant to my perspective, could ruin someone else's life. She had more depth than any other video game character I've ever seen in a game.
Put my mind through a loop and actually helped me come to some of my current philosophies on philanthropy and blindly helping people out. No video game, movie, book, or person has so dramatically shifted my moral perspective like KOTORII did.
Which is kind of sad, thinking about it.
But holy cow, Kreia. So freaking awesome, almost making me want to play KOTORII again.
