Darkness has brought betterness to the celebration: A full moon in the clear eastern sky, dark thunderheads in the west, explosions above, and lightning intermixed. The hail is approaching half a centimeter in diameter.

Sure makes me feel proud knowing that I live in a country where lunatics go out into painful thunderhail to set off illegal explosives the day before the actual holiday. Probably the first time I've been patriotic on around the holiday.
