My no-doubt wildly unbalanced social combat rules are complete! At least, the rough draft is. I'm actually really happy with how this turned out. Surprisingly effective fusion of Burning Wheel ideas with a D&D style turn system and my own game's design paradigms, at least I think so at 3 in the morning having just written it. The core ruleset is about 75% complete now. I need to set up the basis for skills, objects (including magic items, powered entirely through the owner's badassitude), and the secondary "encounter" systems designed to take the place of more recent editions' skill challenges, and then all that's left is content generation and editing.

Fun fact, velocipede is to bicycle, what automobile is to car. The bicycle is a subset of velocipede, but people apparently preferred to say bicycle to velocipede so much that the term fell into disuse...

This should be remedied... so I'm formally announcing my campaign to put "velocipede" back into the English language.

I watched the last HP movie with my cousin just the other month, and being someone that is not at all ingratiated into the HP universe, I found myself constantly asking why they used wands to blast at eachother rather than just, you know, use a gun. Probably alot cheaper to get mooks, or hell, just animate some golems that have atleast one arm and hand and give'em conventional weapons.

I'm probably missing the point.

So what you are saying is that not only do they fail to teach any sort of logical maths (Protip: saying 2 + 5 = 5 because of maaagic does not make it true!) but these wizards are cursed by their magic so that should they ever attempt to pick up a calculator it will explode.

The thing with muggles, we could probably harness Magic, bend it, shape it, make it better and control it so much better than the wizards, just by sheer fact that we know how to figure things out from first principles, and have the SCIENTIFIC METHOD!

Also, finally got around to playing some online M:TG with JoshuaFH last night. I got roflstomped in every single game (usually by the AI, which seems to hold a hatred for humans on par with SHODAN) but it was fun.

Also, finally got around to playing some online M:TG with JoshuaFH last night. I got roflstomped in every single game (usually by the AI, which seems to hold a hatred for humans on par with SHODAN) but it was fun.

That AI in the first game was suicidally aggressive and hellbent on your destruction. He could have withstood the attack from my growing forces if he remained defensive and held back, but nope, it's programmed hatred mandated taking you out at all costs.

Then you gave it Eldrazi and we both cried.

We finally got back at it in the Archenemy game though, provided we were stomped beforehand by Jace, thanks to our no-doubt-conspiring-against-us AI partner.
