I'm happy because I got to attend a Table Tennis tournament today hosted by the school. I lost in the quarter finals, and placed 4th out of 8 people. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place spots were taken by the faculty, members with years of ping pong experience under their belts. I did really well though, and I was the highest placed student out of everyone.

While I didn't win, I had a lot of fun meeting the incredible talent that tournaments pull out of the woodwork, and I got to have some great games with them. I got to show off off my footwork, and my looping, and that alone makes me feel really good.

I would want to play Table Tennis with you.  Unfortunately it would only work with physical interaction.

I used to be really good at ping pong. Then I was deprived of access to a way to play for a few years. Now I suck.

If I ever got a digital camera Toony, I'd do the pleasure of recording some of my practice sessions with my friends and upload them to youtube. This would serve the triple purpose of recording my playing style for myself to study, recording it for all of posterity, and showing off to pet my ego.

My parents have gone to roller derby a couple times.  I need to check that out.  It looks like it would be fun to see at least once.

In general, though, I really don't care about sports.  It's a bunch of people I don't know playing a game.  Why should I care?  I do love to play sports, just not spectate.  My mentality is very very very uncommon in this state.  People here argue sports issues like they're acting in a hospital drama... all the time.  They rarely talk about anything else.

In roller derby, there's this thing called suicide seating.
That's when you sit up front on the floor so you can see up the rollergirls' skirts and potentially have one fall on you. :D

Dont be dumb.  Wear gear.  Get some practice before taking on a passenger.  Have your girlfriend wear gear.  Don't just wear a helmet.  That's the worth possible thing you can do.

Sorry if this is annoying.  The vast majority of people are incredibly irresponsible about motorcycles.

Doesn't he just have a PhD?  I don't remember him attaining a full professorship...

I know I didn't understand a damn word on his "dumbed down" version of his thesis he gave in an interview a while back. I really hope I don't have to understand any of that to do any kind of meaningful programming. ;_;
