We finally got some rain around here. There wasn't much of it but it was still enough for a walk out in the rain, something that i absolutely love to do. I know, both my RL friends and my parents think of me as weird for it too.

It's been a while, but I used to do that in college fairly often. Nothing weird about it, it can be pretty refreshing.

Just... maybe not when it's lightning, too. Just rain, no zappy.

Found the sort of shacket I was after, and at Primark too so it was pretty cheap. Nothing fancy, just a green-to-khaki colour with just one layer of fairly thick material so it should be somewhat durable, or at least the fabric should be if not the stitching. Also has four pockets, one being inside, so that's convenient. I just need to wear it enough that the folds from being in the shop get worked out, it looks weirdly over-formal for wandering around with them.

... so a shacket is a jacket with really big pockets? Not being familiar with the term, that seems to be what images of it are saying.

E: Unrelated, just made sorta' braised chicken for the first time in, like... two years or something. Didn't have the really good stuff (unsalted teriyaki or sweet and sour sauce), but curried chicken with garlic and butter came out just fine. Dumped it in some wheat penne with a pile of cheese and some bacon bits, heh. Is good.

One of these days I'm going to actually braise something, but sorta' braising makes for really damn good chicken regardless of actually doing the whole "cook for hours" thing, so...

Shacket's a portmanteau of shirt and jacket. Heavier than a shirt, lighter than a jacket.

Yeah, that just... doesn't make sense to me. There's plenty of jackets that are lighter than shirts, y'know?

My mom calls them sweaters. :P

My favorite jacket is only slightly thicker than an average shirt.

Sometimes I'm just struck at how absolutely beautiful the universe is.

I'm currently stuck staring at pictures of galaxies. I might never get to explore space, but being able to see the pictures is a pretty good second. Some day, I hope to explore SpaceEngine in VR.

I had to save one of the James Webb Space Telescope pictures for my phone background.

Heh. The one upside of cat 5 hurricane going over my house? For a week or so light pollution around here was basically 0. Probably the most beautiful night skies I've seen in my life.

One of those things that drives home why light pollution is called pollution, ha.

It's over!

My last assignment is done for the year!

Now I just need to find out if the fieldwork thingy has any. I hope not, I suspect so. I also need to email my tutor because none of it's turning up on my timetable, which is sort of important since I need to know when to turn up where.

Spoiler: Fridge horror (click to show/hide)

Otherwise, that was a great episode. Nice to hear Loona's voice again. Sadly, the ending went about as well as I expected it to.
