I think I can do this next Friday, the 31st, if you think you can.
Assuming that's the US date, I should be able to make it.

Yeah, the US date. I'm GMT-5.
That's also assuming that Cthulhu isn't running the DeathWatch game this week. I don't think he is, because he said he wouldn't over the holidays.

Happy new year guys. Are you still available for a game, NewsMuffin?

I am.
Do you want to open up the room, or should I?
Hmm, I haven't written up a list yet. I'll write one once I'm in the program, I guess.

You go ahead and open the room. What will the password be?

I don't think I can set one.
Also, just made it.
I also have no idea how to start a game. Hmm.
Also also, sorry about spelling your name wrong.

Yeah, I have no idea how to open up a board. I'm trying though.
Nevermind, got it.

Well, it was a fun game.
This is the picture of the final turn:

Only the guardsmen in the woods are dead.
I only lost 16, out of 28, boyz, while Archangel lost all 78.
Those 3 blood splats south of the sand bags were his missile crews. God damn they gave me a hard time.
I've learned the effectiveness of combining tank shock and burna boyz. That ring of blood around the destroyed battle wagon was an entire squad. It was killed in the same turn, along with one or two others.
Man, what a game.
The log for anyone who's interested.
We screwed up the rules a whole lot, but it worked out in the end.

Turn 1 was mainly movement, and I blew up two of his soldiers with the battle wagon's kannon.
Turn 2 was when I tank shocked and burned a squad, then assaulted two others.
Turn 3 was when I lost my battlewagon, and killed a few more squads.
Turn 4 was when I killed his missile crews.
Turn 5 was when I finished off his men, and won the game.
Archangel may post a review from his point of view, if you think mine was one sided.

That ring of blood is two squads, the first is the one that was unsuccessfully tank shocked, the second was the squad the took out the wagon.
Some time during turn 2 or 3, one of my Platoon Command Squads tried to assault News' 'Ard Boyz and totally failed. They didn't just fail to wound, they were wiped out.
Throughout the game, my men did horribly in close combat, getting barely any wounds in, with all those that did succeed being saved. They didn't do particularly well at shooting either, but it went much better than melee.
After all my officers die my men rallied a little, but nowhere near enough to win me the game.
The men in the forest lurked in there all game and only really did anything in the last couple of turns. Mainly die.

That's about it. I think NewsMuffin summed it up pretty well.

In conclusion, I'd like to repeat what I said at the end: "I called this list my Losing is Fun army for a reason."

I finally got around to finishing painting my wych squad and raider today. I'll have pictures if I can find my goddamn camera anywhere.

I've got to order some ravagers, a few more raiders, more wyches, and probably some warriors... And then find more money to get a razorwing and a couple of venoms when the kits come out in march... :-\

I'm the worst kind of heretic. I paint without primer, or a base coat, and use non-citadel paints. I used lacquer car paints from some random store brand. I also use Popsicle sticks to mix, and toothpicks to paint.
And the worst part is, it doesn't look bad.

Just saw "Ultramarines: a Warhammer 40k movie".  Eh. I guess if you are the type who devours the books and craves more it will entertain you. Everyone else stay away.

I've been interested in 40K for quite a bit, only recently getting back into it. Partly  because of this thread.
I have remnants of my Tau army.  A lot of things disappeared over the past two years. One of my Fire Warriors has a Lego Head glued on as a placekeeper until I get a replacement.

Is it worth it to get the hobby starter set?
