Hmm... as for resolution... mine is 1500x900, which is pretty good.  Does mean no pictures ever quite fit it, but meh.  The Windows 7-tan pic was close enough :P.

I still use 1280x1024 or 1280x960(depends on my wallpaper) and I don't see a reason to change.

That may have been why I set it as my background :).  It's also significantly less objectionable than many similar desktops (fully clothed, no violence...).

Make sure you have selected the right country otherwise steam will download from servers on the other side of the world.

I have a feeling the time just isn't updating, actually.  I'm on the "Benelux" area... uh... for some reason.  I'll switch to "UK".

Ok, it's about 10% done, but still insists it will take 2.4 days to finish.  It looks more like it'll take a few hours... I guess I'll just leave it on when I go out.
